The Sagamu–Ibadan natural gas pipeline in Nigeria is nearing completion, promising significant benefits for the region’s industrial sector.
NIPCO Gas Ltd. reports that the 80-kilometre pipeline has reached 80 per cent completion and is set for delivery between June and July. This project, developed in partnership with NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd., aims to enhance gas supply to consumers in Ogun and Oyo states.
Completion of Sagamu–Ibadan Pipeline Nears
The Managing Director of NIPCO Gas Ltd., Nagendra Verma, confirmed the progress during a session with energy correspondents in Lagos. He emphasized the pipeline’s role as a major milestone in Nigeria’s gas expansion efforts. The completion of this infrastructure is expected to strengthen industrial productivity and enhance energy security in the region.
Verma highlighted that the pipeline will provide a stable and cost-effective alternative to diesel and Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO), which many manufacturers currently rely on. This shift is anticipated to lower production costs and stimulate economic growth in Ogun and Oyo states.
