“Revolutionizing Energy: Nationwide Metering and Renewable Solutions Through Innovative Partnerships”

In a major development for the energy sector, Open Access Energy (OAE), a trailblazing software company from South Africa, has joined forces with PEC Utility Management. This dynamic partnership aims to create a robust metering infrastructure across South Africa, paving the way for precise billing for wheeling clients. With an eye towards sustainability and efficiency, this collaboration promises to enhance energy management and reliability in a country rich with renewable energy potential.

Established in 2021, Open Access Energy has already made significant strides in the power industry. The company’s flagship platforms, Amptera and Energypro, are designed to optimize real-time energy transactions and improve management for Independent Power Producers (IPPs) as well as local municipalities. The ongoing mission is to simplify and expedite the transition to a more sustainable energy landscape, addressing the challenges faced within the energy distribution system.

As reported by Africazine in August, Open Access Energy successfully secured a substantial investment of 0,000 from Factor E Ventures, which is part of a larger .5 million seed funding round. This investment is crucial for scaling operations and integrating the new metering technologies made possible through this partnership with PEC. By leveraging PEC’s established presence and expertise, Open Access Energy will be able to broaden its reach and enhance its service offerings, providing consistent and accurate metering services nationwide.

The collaboration is set to empower customers engaged in energy wheeling, simplifying the billing process for their end users. This is particularly significant in a landscape that is increasingly leaning towards renewable energy solutions, such as those facilitated by the partnership with EverSolar, South Africa’s premier provider of renewable energy innovations. By allowing PEC clients to effortlessly share their meter data through the Energypro platform, this initiative will grant users enhanced insights into their energy consumption and usage patterns.

Gerjo Hoffman, CEO of Open Access Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with PEC and EverSolar represents a pivotal moment in our journey to boost energy reliability and affordability for all South Africans. We are collectively building a future where businesses and municipalities have access to cleaner, greener, and cost-effective energy solutions.”

As South Africa continues to navigate its energy challenges, this partnership signals a promising shift towards a more reliable and sustainable power grid—one that empowers users and promotes renewable energy adoption across the country.
