In a significant move for Taraba State’s governance and economic development, Governor Kefas Agbu has appointed the esteemed Taraba State correspondent for Africazine, Justin Tyopuusu, as his Special Adviser on Digital Economy and Innovation. This announcement, made on January 20, 2025, is part of a broader effort by the governor to enhance his administration’s efficiency with a team of skilled professionals.

Previously, on June 17, 2024, Governor Agbu appointed a total of 110 aides, but their roles had yet to be defined. This latest structuring assigns specific portfolios to each of the appointees, a strategic shift that will allow them to contribute effectively to the state’s ambitious plans for innovation and economic transformation.

Tyopuusu is no stranger to the world of communication and media. His impressive educational background includes a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Benue State University and Taraba State University, respectively. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in the same field, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence. Additionally, he sharpened his skills at the Lagos Business School, achieving certification as a professional financial reporter.

As Taraba State aims to harness the power of the digital economy, Tyopuusu’s role will be critical. Given the global shift towards digital solutions in various sectors, his expertise is likely to be instrumental in guiding the state through this transition, fostering innovation and potentially attracting new investments.

Outside of his professional life, Tyopuusu is a dedicated family man. He is happily married and is the proud father of two children, balancing his career ambitions with his personal life.

Tyopuusu’s appointment underscores the governor’s vision for a modernized Taraba State, ready to embrace the challenges of the digital age. As the administration moves forward, many will be watching closely to see how these new appointments evolve into tangible benefits for the community.

This development has generated excitement among residents and stakeholders alike, as they look forward to a more dynamic and innovative approach to governance in Taraba State.
