NIVEA is empowering South African matric learners by offering support for their upcoming matric dance.

Through the Friends of NIVEA initiative, two learners will receive assistance in areas such as fashion, grooming, transport, and photography as they prepare for this significant milestone. The campaign encourages public nominations, highlighting the importance of community support in celebrating educational achievements.

NIVEA’s Initiative for Matric Learners

The Friends of NIVEA program invites South Africans to nominate matric learners who deserve extra support for their matric dance preparations. This initiative aims to make the experience memorable by providing guidance and resources that go beyond just the event itself.

Teacher and content creator Smangele Shabalala, along with fellow content creators Sphokuhle Ntshalintshali and Philani Mthembu, will mentor the selected learners. Their involvement emphasizes the importance of encouragement and support during this transitional phase in the students’ lives.

Key Support Areas for Selected Learners

The support offered through this initiative includes assistance with fashion choices, grooming, transportation, and photography. This holistic approach ensures that the learners not only look their best but also feel confident as they step into this important moment.

Philani Mthembu will specifically mentor the young man selected, focusing on grooming and self-care. This mentorship aims to foster conversations about confidence and preparation, reinforcing the idea that the experience is about more than just appearances.

Upcoming Nomination Deadline

  • Nominations for matric learners are open until 23 September 2026.
  • Public can submit nominations via the Friends of NIVEA Instagram page.
