Stellantis Unveils Maximus 6×6 Jeep Gladiator Conversion in South Africa

The Maximus 6×6 conversion showcases South Africa’s engineering prowess in vehicle customization.

Stellantis South Africa has introduced the Maximus 6×6, a specialist six-wheel conversion based on the Jeep Gladiator. This conversion, engineered by Ulterio Motiv, extends the Gladiator’s wheelbase by 1,040 mm, resulting in an overall length of 6,577 mm and a payload capacity of 1,090 kg. The starting price for this conversion is R3.5 million.

Maximus 6×6: A New Era for Jeep Gladiator

The Maximus 6×6 is not a factory model but an independently engineered conversion. It features a longer chassis and a significantly larger load bed, enhancing its utility for extreme applications. The load bed measures 2,530 mm, and the gross vehicle mass is 3,490 kg, maintaining its classification as a bakkie.

Customers can customize the Maximus 6×6 with various upgrades, including suspension modifications, larger brake discs, and different wheel sizes. Options for 17- and 20-inch alloy wheels are available, along with 37-inch all-terrain or mud-terrain tyres.

Performance Features of the Maximus 6×6

Under the hood, the Maximus 6×6 is powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine, delivering 209 kW and 347 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring robust performance on and off the road.

The vehicle is equipped with the Rock-Trac 4×4 system, a 4:1 low-range transfer case, Dana 44 axles, and Tru-Lok locking differentials, making it highly capable for off-road adventures.
