Sungrow is set to enhance Egypt’s renewable energy landscape with a new manufacturing facility.
The company recently launched its energy storage manufacturing facility in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone. This facility will have an annual production capacity of 10 GWh, with operations commencing in June 2027. The initial production will support the Sustainable Energy Valley project in Minya Governorate.
Sungrow’s Commitment to Egypt’s Energy Future
Sungrow’s new facility will supply 4 GWh of energy storage systems, significantly contributing to Egypt’s renewable energy infrastructure. This initiative aligns with the Egyptian government’s efforts to promote sustainable energy solutions. The collaboration with Norwegian company Scatec highlights the international partnerships driving Egypt’s clean energy goals.
Additionally, Sungrow has supported the commissioning of the Abydos Phase II solar-plus-storage project in Aswan Governorate. This project will feature 1.2 GW of PV capacity and 720 MWh of energy storage, making it Africa’s largest single-site integrated solar-plus-storage project.
