Crocworld Adventure & Conservation Centre in Scottburgh has reopened its animal encounter experiences, enhancing wildlife education and interaction.

The centre now offers visitors the chance to engage with snakes and juvenile crocodiles, focusing on conservation education. Led by Animal Curator Busani Mthiyane, the sessions include snake demonstrations and handling opportunities, featuring both non-venomous and occasionally venomous species.

Interactive Wildlife Experiences at Crocworld

Crocworld Adventure & Conservation Centre has resumed its animal encounter experiences after a winter break. Visitors can now participate in supervised hands-on encounters with snakes, including non-venomous species like ball pythons and Monty, the Burmese python. The centre also occasionally showcases venomous species, such as the forest cobra, under safe handling conditions.

The educational sessions aim to inform visitors about South Africa’s snake diversity and provide safety guidelines for wild encounters. This initiative is particularly significant on the KZN South Coast, where snake encounters are common.

Focus on Conservation Education

In addition to snake interactions, visitors can observe juvenile crocodiles, furthering Crocworld’s commitment to conservation education. The crocodile feeding schedule varies seasonally, reflecting the reptiles’ appetite changes during cooler months. This hands-on approach not only entertains but also educates families about wildlife conservation.

Upcoming Activities and Sessions
