Kia’s Green Light Project marks a significant milestone in community empowerment in Albania and Zimbabwe.
The company announced on July 31 that it has successfully completed its initiatives in these countries, transferring operational authority to local communities. This achievement makes Albania and Zimbabwe the 13th and 14th self-sustaining sites of the project, which began in 2012.
Kia’s Impact in Albania and Zimbabwe
In Albania, Kia has established a treatment center for children with disabilities in the Librazhdi region. This center provides rehabilitation therapy and caregiver training, benefiting approximately 4,300 individuals. Additionally, the project supports the production and distribution of local specialties, helping families achieve economic independence.
Meanwhile, in Zimbabwe’s Wedza region, Kia has developed solar-powered water facilities, irrigation systems, and fish farms. These initiatives have improved labor infrastructure and provided self-sufficiency training to around 34,000 residents.
