Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Launch Direct Flights to Sri Lanka

Vietnam is set to enhance its connectivity with Sri Lanka through new direct flights.

Starting in mid-August 2026, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet will launch three weekly flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo. Vietjet’s flights begin on 18 August 2026, while Vietnam Airlines starts on 16 August 2026.

Direct Flights to Strengthen Vietnam-Sri Lanka Ties

The introduction of direct flights marks a significant milestone in the relationship between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Vietjet will operate flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while Vietnam Airlines will fly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Both airlines aim to boost tourism and trade links between the two nations.

Vietjet’s flights will utilize an A320 aircraft with 180 seats, while Vietnam Airlines will deploy an Airbus A321 with 184 seats. The flight schedules are designed to facilitate convenient travel for passengers, allowing them to explore both countries.
