Habitat for Humanity Malawi is making strides in Mzuzu by partnering with youth-led organizations to build homes for vulnerable families.

In Lusangadzi Area, four houses will be constructed for families headed by the elderly, people with disabilities, and children. The project involves collaboration with Do Your Part Initiative, Rhema Foundation, and People First Foundation, with construction materials provided by Habitat for Humanity.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction took place recently, highlighting the importance of safe housing for vulnerable families. Mathews Bota, director of Do Your Part Initiative, emphasized that every family deserves a safe environment. The initiative aims to create secure homes where children can thrive.

Habitat for Humanity’s construction specialist, Mayamiko Sailesi, noted that engaging young people in this project empowers them as agents of change. This dual approach addresses both shelter poverty and youth empowerment, fostering a sense of community involvement.
