SASSA Launches Outreach Programme to Provide Social Services in Bushbuckridge

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is set to enhance community access to social services in Bushbuckridge.

Through the Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme, SASSA will bring essential social security services directly to residents. The programme aims to educate communities and provide immediate assistance on March 20, 2026, at the Oakley Sports Ground.

SASSA’s Commitment to Community Engagement

The Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme targets the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, a key area with many rural villages. This initiative will serve as a one-stop shop, allowing residents to access various services from multiple stakeholders in a single visit.

Led by MEC for Social Development Ms. Nompumelelo Hlophe and Regional Executive Manager Mr. Abraham Mahlangu, the programme emphasizes SASSA’s dedication to delivering services directly to the people. On-site, residents can address inquiries and complaints, ensuring immediate resolutions.

Prioritized Services During the Outreach

During the outreach event, SASSA will focus on social grants reviews, changes in payment methods, and applications for various grants. The Special Social Relief of Distress R370 and Disability Grants will also be highlighted, providing crucial support to those in need.

Various government departments, NGOs, state entities, financial institutions, and retailers will collaborate to offer their services, enhancing the outreach’s effectiveness and reach.
