Air Transat Soars: New Summer Routes to Dakar and Reykjavik Set to Boost Travel Enthusiasm

MONTREAL, November 13, 2025 — Exciting news for travelers! Air Transat, recognized as the 2025 World’s Best Leisure Airline by Skytrax, is gearing up to expand its summer 2026 travel program. The Canadian airline will introduce two brand-new non-stop routes from Montreal to Dakar, Senegal, and Reykjavik, Iceland. Additionally, it will increase flight frequencies to Valencia, Spain, responding to the growing popularity of these vibrant tourist destinations.

Air Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer, Sebastian Ponce, expressed his pride in being the only Canadian airline providing direct access from Canada to Sub-Saharan Africa. “This new flight between Montreal and Dakar caters to a strong connection between the Senegalese community in Quebec and countless travelers eager to explore Senegal’s rich heritage. By offering this direct service, we eliminate the need for lengthy layovers in Europe and enhance the travel experience,” he stated. This commitment to enhancing service and connectivity is sure to resonate with both the Senegalese diaspora and tourists keen to immerse themselves in the stunning landscapes and cultural experiences that Senegal has to offer.

The non-stop service to Dakar will operate from June 17 to October 21, 2026, with two flights scheduled weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This initiative promises to bolster cultural exchange and facilitate beach tourism in Senegal, a country known for its warm hospitality and beautiful coastlines.

Travelers yearning for Iceland’s breathtaking vistas will also have the opportunity to fly non-stop to Reykjavik from June 16 to September 27, 2026, with flights available on Tuesdays and Sundays. This route is perfect for adventurers looking to experience Iceland’s renowned hot springs, majestic waterfalls, and outdoor activities.

Additionally, Air Transat is ramping up its service to Valencia by adding an extra flight from June 16 to September 8, 2026. Given the Mediterranean city’s allure, this decision comes as a welcomed enhancement, allowing travelers to visit this charming destination more frequently.

With over 45 international destinations featured in its summer 2026 schedule, Air Transat is dedicated to providing a world of discovery to its passengers. Their fleet, known for energy efficiency, is a testament to their nearly 40 years of expertise in the airline industry.

Founded in Montreal 37 years ago, Air Transat continues to prioritize exceptional customer service while connecting travelers with unforgettable experiences. The airline’s ongoing growth and extensive flight options reaffirm its position as a leader in the leisure travel sector.
