In a move to enhance the infrastructure of one of South Africa’s busiest transport hubs, the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) has announced a series of important road closures affecting the EB Cloete Interchange. This initiative aims to improve access between Durban’s city center and King Shaka International Airport, making travel more efficient and smoother for residents and tourists alike.

Scheduled Closures: Mark Your Calendars!

The planned closures will occur over several weekends in the upcoming weeks. Here’s a quick rundown of the schedule:

1. First Closure: From Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2 PM until Monday, October 7, 2024, at 2 AM – this initial closure is set to allow barrier removals.

2. Second Closure: Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2 PM to Monday, October 14, 2024, at 2 AM – this window will see the first stage of vertical jacking of the bridge deck as part of the upgrade process.

3. Third Closure: Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2 PM through Monday, October 21, 2024, at 2 AM – another round of vertical jacking to further enhance the bridge’s structure will take place.
