President Tinubu Approves Major Investment for Oyo-Ogbomoso Road Project: A Game-Changer for Local Connectivity

In a significant development for the people of Oyo State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a robust N147.9 billion for the completion of the dualization of the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road. This announcement, made by presidential spokesperson Sunday Dare on his official X account, signals a renewed commitment to enhancing critical infrastructure in Nigeria.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting this week underscored the government’s dedication to stimulating economic growth and improving transportation links in the region. The Oyo-Ogbomoso Road project has been a focal point for local residents and businesses for several years, and it’s set to revamp the current state of transport in the area. The dualization aims to make travel safer and faster for commuters while boosting the ease of transporting agricultural goods from the northern parts of Nigeria to major markets in Lagos.

Dare highlighted the importance of this infrastructure investment, noting that it will allow JRB Construction Company Limited to expedite the completion of a project that has faced delays in the past. “President Tinubu recognizes the vital role of this road, particularly the unfinished Ibadan–Ilorin section, and is committed to easing the challenges faced by all road users, including students and haulage trailers,” Dare explained.

Not only will this project enhance connectivity between Oyo and Ogbomoso, but it also stands to significantly reduce travel times and foster economic coherence in the region. Improved roads can lead to increased trade opportunities and better access to essential services, contributing positively to the livelihoods of local communities.

In essence, this investment reflects a broader vision for Nigeria, where infrastructure development is viewed as a cornerstone of national progress. The completion of the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road is anticipated to be a transformative step towards a more connected and economically vibrant Nigeria.
