“Discover the Rising Stars: Yobe Sesame Seeds and Gum Arabic Shine Bright in Morocco!”

Exciting developments are on the horizon for Yobe State, Nigeria, as the region’s agricultural products garner international attention. The Association of Regions, also known as the Governor’s Forum, based in Morocco, has officially invited Yobe State to showcase its premium sesame seeds and exceptional Gum Arabic at the upcoming international trade fair in Meknes, Morocco.

Mohammed El Bachiri, the Executive Director of the association, expressed his enthusiasm in a recent statement, emphasizing the potential for collaboration to bring investors and marketers to Yobe State. The aim is clear: to pave the way for both direct and indirect investments that will benefit the local economy. This kind of engagement highlights Morocco’s increasing interest in African agricultural sectors, showcasing promising business opportunities.

Baba Malam Wali, the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, articulated the state government’s commitment to making the most of this trade fair, presenting not just its sesame seeds and Gum Arabic, but a variety of agricultural products, including beans, groundnuts, and a wealth of livestock. “We are proud to say that we have high-quality graded sesame seeds and Gum Arabic available in abundance,” Malam Wali stated. Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration is proactive in collaborating with credible agencies to ignite employment opportunities and wealth creation aimed specifically at empowering the state’s youth.

In support of this initiative, the state’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Mustapha Goniri, noted that Yobe State produces and processes some of the highest-quality sesame seeds, which are internationally recognized. He revealed that under Governor Buni’s leadership, four sesame seed processing plants have been established in the state to enhance product quality further.

The trade fair will serve as a global stage for Yobe State to shine, and the potential is vast. The state’s 17 local government councils are ready to participate, each eager to present their unique products and attract investment to their areas. Ibrahim Adamu Jajere, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, reiterated this sentiment, highlighting the opportunity to create employment for the people.

Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, CEO of the African Network Center, is all set to handle the necessary documentation for Yobe State’s participation, ensuring that everything is in place for this valuable opportunity.

This initiative not only strengthens the agricultural prospects of Yobe State but also positions it as a competitive player on the international stage, reaffirming the region’s commitment to quality and sustainability in agriculture.
