Egyptian Exchange to List New Futures Contracts for EGX30 and Stocks

The Egyptian Exchange is expanding its offerings with new futures contracts aimed at enhancing trading options.

On September 16, 2026, the EGX announced the listing of new futures contracts on the EGX30 index, along with contracts for Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) and Talaat Moustafa Group Holding. Trading for these contracts will commence on September 17, 2026, with the EGX30 futures contract priced at approximately 61,100 points and an initial margin of EGP 5,900.

New Futures Contracts Launch on EGX

The Egyptian Exchange is set to introduce new futures contracts that include the EGX30 index and shares from key companies. The theoretical opening price for the CIB futures contract is around EGP 149, while the Talaat Moustafa contract is priced at EGP 107. Each of these individual-stock futures contracts requires an initial margin of EGP 1,600.

This move aims to provide investors with more diverse trading opportunities and enhance liquidity in the market. The introduction of these contracts reflects the EGX’s commitment to developing its financial products.

Current Futures Contracts Settlement Prices

In addition to the new listings, the EGX announced the final settlement prices for futures contracts maturing in September 2026. The EGX30 contract settled at 54,800 points, while the CIB futures contract closed at EGP 131.75 and the Talaat Moustafa contract at EGP 95. This information is crucial for investors tracking the performance of existing contracts.

Revised Margin Requirements for December Contracts

  • The initial margin for the EGX30 futures contract was set at EGP 5,500.
  • The margin for both the CIB and Talaat Moustafa futures contracts was adjusted to EGP 1,500 each.
