NASRIA Donates N Million to Support Regional Development in Namibia

The Namibia Special Risks Insurance Association has made a significant investment in regional development.

NASRIA has contributed N million to bolster the capacity of the Offices of the Regional Governors and support initiatives across all 14 regions of Namibia. Prime Minister Dr. Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare emphasized the importance of translating development into tangible improvements for citizens.

NASRIA’s Contribution to Regional Development

The N million contribution aims to enhance productive development throughout Namibia’s regions. Prime Minister Ngurare highlighted that the funds will focus on establishing and supporting factories and businesses that stimulate local economic activity. This initiative aligns with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s directive for each region to have a factory tailored to its unique resources.

Ngurare stressed that regional leadership is crucial, as Governors understand the specific needs and opportunities within their communities. He called for strategic use of the funds to ensure they address real needs and create lasting economic value.

Key Focus Areas for Development

The Prime Minister outlined several key areas for the funds, including:

  • Establishing manufacturing plants unique to each region’s resources.
  • Supporting initiatives that respond to community needs.
  • Creating lasting economic value through effective implementation.
  • Attracting further investment and improving infrastructure.

Next Steps for Regional Initiatives

Regional Governors are encouraged to prioritize initiatives that can be effectively implemented. The focus will be on supporting businesses, strengthening livelihoods, and enhancing local infrastructure. The success of this investment will be measured by visible improvements in the lives of ordinary Namibians.

This investment marks a pivotal step towards enhancing regional development in Namibia.
