A new upscale nature estate is set to transform the Windhoek area.

APxHouse and Pieter Mostert Architects have partnered to develop Woodlands @ Herboths, a low-density estate covering approximately 160 hectares. The estate will feature 31 freehold erven, allowing homeowners to design their own residences while ensuring eco-friendly living through off-grid capabilities.

Exclusive Partnership for Woodlands @ Herboths

The collaboration between APxHouse and PMA aims to create a cohesive architectural vision for Woodlands @ Herboths. PMA will oversee the design approvals for the estate’s Home Owners Association, ensuring that each home maintains a consistent architectural footprint. This approach is intended to protect the value of the properties while allowing owners the freedom to realize their dream homes.

Le-Hugo van Rooyen, Chief Executive of APxHouse, emphasized the importance of space, light, and permanence in the homes being developed. The estate’s design philosophy prioritizes a connection to nature, with wildlife roaming freely across conservation corridors.

Eco-Friendly Living and Design Philosophy

Woodlands @ Herboths is designed to operate fully off-grid, featuring a hybrid solar system, secured bulk water from NamWater, and on-site wastewater treatment. This ensures that each household can function independently and sustainably. The estate’s location, about twenty minutes from Windhoek and near Hosea Kutako International Airport, enhances its appeal for potential homeowners.

Pieter Mostert, Founder of PMA, highlighted the firm’s commitment to creating homes that harmonize with their environment. The use of durable materials and climate-responsive design aims to foster a deep connection between the homes and the Namibian landscape.

Future Developments and Community Impact

  • Completion of architectural designs for all homes.
  • Finalization of infrastructure connecting to the upgraded Dr Hage Geingob Freeway.
  • Promotion of the estate to potential buyers following the success of Herboths Blick estate.

Woodlands @ Herboths promises a unique blend of luxury and sustainability in Namibia.
