Chad Partners with Cybastion to Secure National Data Center Operations

Chad is taking significant steps to enhance its cybersecurity through a partnership with U.S. technology firm Cybastion.

The collaboration aims to complete and secure Chad’s national data center, a crucial component of the country’s digital transformation agenda. This initiative follows an earlier agreement with Techso Group and comes amid rising cyber threats and the increasing use of digital technologies in the nation.

Chad Partners with Cybastion for Cybersecurity

Chad’s government is actively seeking to bolster its cybersecurity capabilities by partnering with Cybastion. This partnership was discussed during a recent visit by Telecommunications Minister Haliki Choua Mahamat to the United States, where the focus was on establishing relationships with leading U.S. institutions in key areas such as digital infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Under this proposed partnership, Cybastion will assist in auditing, certifying, and securing the national data center. These steps are deemed essential for the facility to commence operations, ensuring it meets international standards for protecting critical infrastructure.

Chad: Key figures on National Data Center

  • February 2026: Techso Group appointed for security audit
  • June 29: Debriefing on outcomes of U.S. visit
  • Tier 4: Chad’s ranking in ITU’s Global Cybersecurity Index

Context of Chad’s Digital Transformation Efforts

This partnership with Cybastion complements ongoing work with Techso Group, which is tasked with conducting a security audit of the data center’s site and equipment. The urgency of these efforts is heightened by the increasing risks of cybercrime and the need to protect sensitive data as Chad accelerates its digital transformation.

According to the International Telecommunication Union, cybersecurity is critical for nations aiming to leverage digital technologies effectively. While Chad has made progress in regulatory measures, it still faces challenges in technical safeguards and capacity building.

Next Steps for Chad’s Cybersecurity Initiative

  • Completion of the national data center’s security audit by Techso Group
  • Implementation of cybersecurity measures with Cybastion’s assistance
  • Continuous assessment of digital infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities

Chad is committed to enhancing its cybersecurity as it advances its digital transformation agenda.
