The Advanced School of Mass Communication in Yaounde recently hosted a significant academic conference focused on humanitarian communication.
On May 6, 2026, the Hervé Bourges Amphitheater welcomed 200 final-year Corporate Communication students, known as the “SEPHIROTH” batch. They engaged with experts from organizations like Plan International Cameroon, the Red Cross, and UNICEF to discuss “Risk Communication: Innovative strategies and ethics in awareness and humanitarian interventions.”
Students Lead Dialogue on Humanitarian Strategies
The conference served as a platform for students to interact with seasoned professionals, providing insights into navigating complex humanitarian crises. Moderated by Viviane Bessala, the event featured a high-level panel that encouraged dynamic discussions over four hours.
Key topics included “Ethical Storytelling,” presented by Nsah Juli-Collette Bingsiisy of Plan International. She emphasized the importance of safeguarding vulnerable populations and the necessity of informed consent when sharing their stories.

Secretary General Alain Assomo highlighted the event’s pedagogical value, noting its role in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
