Kano State is gearing up for a significant political showdown in the 2027 elections.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has pledged full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). During a meeting with government officials, he emphasized Kano’s crucial role in securing votes for Tinubu’s re-election.
Kano State’s Commitment to APC Victory
Governor Yusuf made it clear that the APC-led administration in Kano has no regrets about its support for President Tinubu. He stated that the re-election of the President is a collective responsibility for all party members and government officials. This commitment was reiterated during an interactive meeting held at the Government House in Kano.
Yusuf also urged all political appointees who have not yet registered with the APC to do so promptly. He highlighted the importance of every elected and appointed official identifying with the party and contributing to its strength ahead of the upcoming elections.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to ensuring victory for the APC across various elections, including presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly, and local government elections. To bolster support among political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to over 300 political aides and a payment of N100,000 to each beneficiary.
Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, echoed the sentiment, stating that the APC has no apologies for promoting President Tinubu’s achievements in Kano. He noted that constituency projects supported by Governor Yusuf have enhanced the party’s popularity and positioned it favorably for the 2027 elections.
