Ho Chi Minh City is advancing its urban development with four major projects aimed at enhancing its infrastructure and cultural landscape.
On April 29, the city broke ground on these initiatives, which include the Metro Line No. 2 and the Central Square and City Administrative Center. The total investments for these projects exceed VND 234 trillion (approximately .9 billion).
Ho Chi Minh City Launches Major Urban Projects
The groundbreaking ceremony marks a significant step in Ho Chi Minh City’s transformation into a mega-urban center. The Metro Line No. 2, with an investment of nearly VND 46.3 trillion (.73 billion), is set to enhance public transport and is expected to be completed by 2030. This line will connect key areas, facilitating better mobility for residents and visitors alike.
Additionally, the Central Square and City Administrative Center project, which has a total investment of nearly VND 30 trillion (.14 billion), will feature a floor area of about 272,000 sq.m. This center is scheduled for completion between 2026 and 2028, aiming to create a modern governance space.
