The 18th International Agricultural Salon in Morocco has officially opened, showcasing the nation’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty.

Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the opening ceremony at Mechouar Stinia-Sahrij Souani in Meknès, which runs from April 20 to 28. This year’s theme focuses on the sustainability of animal production and food sovereignty, featuring participation from 70 countries and over 1,500 exhibitors.

The event is organized under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI and emphasizes the importance of agricultural sustainability. It spans 37 hectares and includes 500 cooperatives and 200 breeders, with an expected attendance of more than 1.1 million visitors.

During the ceremony, Prince Moulay Rachid awarded quality labels and geographical indications to various agricultural cooperatives, highlighting local products such as Ghassate almonds and Alnif cumin. The salon also features dedicated areas for animal production, food security, and agricultural advice.
