The Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) is set to expand its offerings with exciting new dates and events.
HIFA has confirmed its return with key festival dates: HIFA 2026 from 03 August to 09 August, HIFA 2027 from 26 April to 02 May, and HIFA 2028 from 01 May to 07 May. Notably, the festival has increased its duration from six to seven days, allowing for a richer experience.
HIFA Expands to Seven Days of Arts
The Harare International Festival of the Arts is evolving. The shift to a seven-day format aims to enhance the experience for attendees and participants alike. This change reflects a commitment to showcasing a diverse range of artistic expressions.
In addition to the main festival, HIFA will introduce a monthly stand-up comedy series titled “Laughter, the Best Medicine,” with launch performances scheduled for 26, 27, and 28 June 2026 in Harare, followed by a performance in Bulawayo on 04 July 2026.
Zimbabwe’s Cultural Showcase and Global Outreach
HIFA will also feature a series of worldwide tours by Zimbabwean artists leading up to the country’s Golden Jubilee. This initiative aims to promote Zimbabwean culture on a global stage, offering artists opportunities to perform internationally.
Another highlight includes the “Right Stuff” event scheduled for 07 to 13 December 2026, further enriching the festival’s offerings and community engagement.
