Body20 is taking a bold step to support children with cancer through its renewed Body20 Cares initiative for 2026.
The initiative aims to raise funds for the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa by donating 50 percent of new member joining fees during April and May 2026. In its first year, Body20 Cares successfully raised over R150,000.
Body20 Cares Initiative Aims to Make a Difference
The Body20 Cares initiative connects personal wellness with community support. Each new membership directly funds assistance for children diagnosed with cancer and their families during challenging times. Philip Hughes emphasizes the initiative’s impact, stating that collective action can create real change.
Every contribution helps alleviate the emotional and financial strain families face when dealing with a cancer diagnosis. With around 1,000 children diagnosed annually in South Africa, the need for support is critical.
CHOC’s Role in Supporting Families
CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation plays a vital role in providing essential services to affected families. They offer accommodation near hospitals, daily meals, and a stable environment for families during treatment. These services are crucial for families navigating the complexities of cancer care.
Funds raised through Body20 Cares help maintain CHOC Houses, ensuring that families have access to necessary support during their most difficult moments.
