Lagos Traffic Radio is enhancing its role as a vital public service through a new training initiative.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, praised Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1 FM for its significant contributions to traffic reporting and public safety. This commendation came during the launch of the 2025 Lagos Traffic Radio In-House Training Programme, aimed at building capacity for improved service delivery.

Omotoso highlighted the station’s evolution from providing routine traffic updates to becoming a crucial platform for public service. He emphasized that Lagos Traffic Radio plays a key role in promoting safer roads and environmental awareness among residents.

The training programme, themed “Empowering excellence: Building capacity for a greater Lagos,” aligns with the state government’s focus on human capital development. Omotoso noted that quality public service relies on continuous capacity building and strategic investments.

Lagos State’s Vision for Excellence

The General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Tayo Akanle, outlined the objectives of the in-house training. He stated that the programme aims to enhance individual skills and improve teamwork within the organization. The focus is on reinforcing core values such as discipline, integrity, and collaboration.

Akanle encouraged participants to engage actively in the training and apply their new knowledge to enhance daily operations. He acknowledged the support from the Ministry of Information and Strategy and the facilitators involved in the programme.
