The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has initiated the repatriation of Egyptian pilgrims from Makkah.

Today marks the launch of the first repatriation flights, with 8 flights transporting 476 pilgrims. This operation follows the completion of this year’s Hajj rituals and will continue until mid-June, ensuring a smooth return for the approximately 35,000 pilgrims in total.

First Flights for Egyptian Pilgrims Depart from Makkah

The Central Administration of Tourism Companies has organized the initial phase of repatriation flights. These flights are coordinated with King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. The aim is to facilitate the return of pilgrims after their Hajj experience.

Ms. Samia Sami, Assistant Minister for Tourism Companies Affairs, emphasized the importance of support for the pilgrims. Field committees have been deployed at both departure airports to assist and bid farewell to the returning pilgrims.

Ongoing Support for Pilgrims’ Return Journey

These committees are responsible for monitoring travel procedures and addressing any issues that may arise during the journey home. Their presence is intended to provide comfort and peace of mind for the pilgrims.

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport and other domestic hubs, similar committees are managing the reception of the pilgrims. This ensures efficient clearance procedures and continuous coordination among all sub-committees involved in the Hajj mission.

Next Steps for Pilgrim Repatriation

  • Continue repatriation flights until mid-June.
  • Monitor the return movement of all pilgrims until the final group arrives.
  • Ensure ongoing coordination with relevant authorities throughout the process.

The repatriation of Egyptian pilgrims is underway, ensuring their safe return home after Hajj.
