Portland Cement Limited is reducing cement prices to stimulate bulk purchases in Malawi.

Effective 11 January 2026, the company will adjust prices at its Blantyre and Balaka factories. The new prices for various cement types include MWK 27,300 for Duracrete at Blantyre and MWK 27,000 at Balaka.

Portland Cement Limited’s New Pricing Strategy

Portland Cement Limited (PCL) has announced significant price reductions for its cement products. At the Blantyre factory, Duracrete (32.5N) will be sold at MWK 27,300 per bag, while Khoma (MC5) will be priced at MWK 16,000. Supaset (42.5N) will retail at MWK 34,167. In Balaka, Duracrete is set at MWK 27,000, and Supaset will be available for MWK 32,000 per bag.

Customers should note that delivery costs are not included in these prices. PCL advises customers to coordinate with their account managers for transport pricing details.

Incentives for Bulk Purchases

To further encourage bulk buying, PCL has introduced a 30-day rebate program from 11 January to 9 February 2026. Customers purchasing 5,000 bags will receive a rebate of MWK 300 per bag. For larger orders of 20,000 bags or more, the rebate increases to MWK 1,500 per bag.

Additionally, Supaset (42.5N) offers even greater incentives, with an extra MWK 200 per bag for those meeting the volume requirements. This brings the total rebate for the largest orders to MWK 1,700 per bag.

Upcoming Changes and Customer Engagement

  • Rebate program runs from 11 January to 9 February 2026.
