Quinton-Steele Botes Athletics Clinic Begins in Windhoek, Attracts Over 100 Athletes

The Quinton-Steele Botes Athletics Training and Coaching Clinic is underway in Windhoek, Namibia, bringing together young athletes and expert coaches.

This annual event, which started on Tuesday and concludes today, focuses on enhancing skills in speed, endurance, agility, and strength. More than 100 athletes are participating, guided by 13 coaches from Namibia, South Africa, and Germany.

Namibia’s Athletics Training Initiative

The clinic is open to athletes as young as six years old and covers various disciplines, including high jump, long jump, triple jump, javelin, discus, shot put, hurdles, and sprints. Event organiser Leoni van Rensburg emphasized the importance of refining athletes’ techniques to boost their performance.

Van Rensburg expressed hope that participants will leave the clinic better prepared for the upcoming athletics season, equipped with new skills and motivation. Motswana athlete Kecedra Peterson highlighted the clinic as an excellent opportunity to kickstart her season with improved fitness.
