Amman Chamber of Commerce Reports Growth in Export Certificates – A Bright Future for Jordan’s Trade
In a promising sign for Jordan’s economy, the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) has announced a 5.4% increase in the issuance of certificates of origin for goods and commodities exported to Arab and international markets during the past 11 months. According to data released by ACC, the number of certificates issued surged to 38,275 from January to November 2025, compared to 36,325 during the same period last year. This development could signify a strengthening trade relationship with neighboring countries and beyond.
While the quantity of export certificates is up, it’s noteworthy that the overall value of these exports has experienced a slight decline, decreasing by 3% to JD1.237 billion from JD1.275 billion in 2024. However, this dip in value does not overshadow the increase in the volume of exports, which is a positive indicator for Jordan’s trade sector.
Iraq has emerged as the top importer from Jordan, generating approximately JD540 million from 3,207 certificates issued. This position underscores the strong economic ties between the two nations. Following closely behind is Saudi Arabia, contributing JD100 million through 9,625 certificates, and Egypt, which accounted for JD86.2 million through 917 certificates. The trend continues with Switzerland and Syria, reporting JD86.1 million and JD76 million respectively, further highlighting the diversity of Jordan’s export markets.
In terms of product categories, during these 11 months, the value of foreign products exported reached JD606 million, with industrial products contributing JD232 million and agricultural products JD173 million. Notably, exports of Arab-origin products accounted for JD103 million, showcasing Jordan’s integration within the Arab market.
This uptick in certificate issuance is not merely a statistical milestone; it reflects the resilience and adaptability of Jordan’s trade sector, adapting to economic climates and diversifying markets. With trade relations continuing to expand, Jordan is well-positioned to capitalize on its strategic geographic location and foster partnerships that promote economic growth.
As the Jordanian economy continues to evolve, trade activities bolstered by the ACC’s initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in driving sustainable development. For now, the outlook remains positive, and it will be exciting to see how these trends develop in the coming months.
