The new Mitsubishi Pajero is set to make a comeback in South Africa, but enthusiasts will have to wait until 2027.
After a five-year hiatus, Mitsubishi has unveiled the new Pajero, which will replace the Pajero Sport. The SUV will feature a ladder-frame chassis and is expected to hit South African roads in the second half of 2027.
Mitsubishi Pajero Returns with New Features
The new Pajero marks a significant update, switching to a ladder-frame chassis derived from the Triton. This model is designed to be Mitsubishi’s new-generation flagship, produced in Thailand alongside the Triton.
Equipped with a single-turbo 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, the Pajero delivers 150 kW of power and 480 Nm of torque. It features a newly developed 8-speed automatic transmission and Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II system, enhancing its off-road capabilities.
Key Specifications of the New Pajero
The Pajero boasts impressive dimensions, including a ground clearance of 230 mm and an approach angle of 30.4 degrees. Inside, it offers modern amenities such as dual 14.3-inch displays and a 12-speaker Yamaha sound system, ensuring a comfortable ride for all passengers.
