Eritrean Women’s Union Reports Progress in Awareness and Organization Activities

The National Union of Eritrean Women is making strides in empowering women across the region.

During a recent meeting in Mendefera, it was reported that significant awareness-raising activities have been conducted over the past six months. These initiatives focus on eradicating harmful practices and enhancing women’s economic capacity, with over 200 women receiving vocational training.

The meeting highlighted the increasing participation of women in education and health facilities. This trend reflects a growing competitiveness among women in various sectors, indicating a positive shift in societal attitudes. The union has also recognized the achievements of female students by awarding 238 outstanding individuals in celebration of International Women’s Day.
