Sungrow is set to enhance Egypt’s renewable energy landscape with a new manufacturing facility.
The company recently launched its energy storage manufacturing facility in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone. With a planned annual production capacity of 10 GWh, operations are expected to commence in June 2027, supporting the Sustainable Energy Valley project in Minya Governorate.
Sungrow’s New Facility to Boost Energy Storage
The energy storage facility will initially support the Sustainable Energy Valley project, a collaboration between the Egyptian government and Norwegian company Scatec. Sungrow plans to supply 4 GWh of energy storage systems, which will play a crucial role in advancing Egypt’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Additionally, Sungrow has been involved in the commissioning of the Abydos Phase II solar-plus-storage project in Aswan Governorate. This project will feature 1.2 GW of PV capacity and 720 MWh of energy storage, positioning it as Africa’s largest single-site integrated solar-plus-storage project.
