Celebrating Project Management Excellence in Namibia
In an inspiring ceremony held in the heart of Namibia’s capital, the Southern Africa School of Project Management, in collaboration with the Project Management Institute’s Namibia Chapter, awarded 25 dedicated trainees with internationally recognized project management certifications. This event not only celebrated the graduates’ achievements but also highlighted the importance of effective project management in contributing to Namibia’s economic growth and development.
Lasekan Temidayo, the Vice President of the Project Management Institute’s Namibia Chapter, spoke passionately about the significance of the certification. He explained that these credentials represent much more than academic achievement; they signify a commitment to excellence in managing projects, which can significantly contribute to the nation’s progress. “This event is a platform for project managers from diverse sectors—be it oil and gas, green hydrogen, energy, or infrastructure—to network, share knowledge, and discuss the importance of certification,” Temidayo stated.
This year marks the second annual Project Management Night, an initiative that not only recognizes individual accomplishments but also fosters community among project management professionals. Vision Shatipamba, the Marketing Manager of the Southern Africa School of Project Management, highlighted the success of this initiative. “Last year, we initiated this event to bring together project management professionals to discuss ongoing projects and share insights. We continue this tradition to strengthen the network and support system within the project management field in Namibia,” he remarked.
The atmosphere at the ceremony was electric, filled with joy and gratitude from the recent graduates who expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to enhance their skills and connect with fellow professionals.
