Ignite the Future: Discover Leapmotors’ All-Electric C10 SUV that Powers the Electric Revolution!

Leapmotor C10 REEV Launch: A Glimpse into the Future of Family SUVs

In a thrilling debut that promises to reshape the landscape of electric vehicles in South Africa, Stellantis recently unveiled the Leapmotor C10 REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle). This all-electric SUV seamlessly merges the comforts of family travel with green technology, and it’s making quite a splash in the automotive world.

The Leapmotor C10 REEV distinguishes itself as a premium family SUV, effectively bridging the gap between fully electric models and conventional hybrids. This innovative vehicle operates primarily on electric power, utilizing a clever 1.5-litre petrol generator to extend its driving range. So, while the C10 allows for hassle-free local commutes of up to 145 kilometers on a single charge, it can stretch that range to an impressive 970 kilometers when you factor in the generator’s support. This feature renders it perfect for long-distance travel without the constant worry of charging stations—a major advantage for any busy family.

During the launch event, I was pleasantly surprised by the vehicle’s smooth driving experience. The moment I slid behind the wheel, it felt welcoming and familiar, like a cozy blanket. The car boasts a rear electric drive unit that delivers a robust 158kW and a torque of 320Nm, making every drive not just efficient but also enjoyable.

One of the standout features of the C10 REEV is its fast-charging capabilities. With DC fast charging, you can achieve up to 50% charge in just 18 minutes and reach 80% in 30 minutes, making electric commuting a practical choice for busy individuals. If you prefer to charge overnight, the vehicle offers an AC charging option that can fully recharge the battery in about five hours.

Aesthetically, the Leapmotor C10 REEV turns heads. The sleek exterior, highlighted by stylish sweeping tail lights, caught the attention of fellow drivers—more than a few were curious enough to ask about the SUV’s origins. In fact, several people mistook it for a Porsche Cayenne, a compliment for sure, yet the C10 possesses a unique personality that sets it apart.

Safety is also a priority, as evidenced by its comprehensive suite of features: seven airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking that senses pedestrians and cyclists. With Adaptive Cruise Control and Driver Monitoring technology ensuring comfort and attention, it’s clear that Leapmotor has prioritized both safety and convenience.

The C10 comes in two stylish variants – Style and Design, with prices starting at R759,900. With Stellantis’s strong foothold in South Africa and its commitment to innovation, Leapmotor’s presence in our market looks promising.

This unveiling exemplifies a forward-thinking vision for the future of SUVs, balancing performance, convenience, and eco-consciousness. Stay tuned, electric driving enthusiasts! The Leapmotor C10 REEV is set to revolutionize our roads.
