In a heartwarming show of community spirit, Zone 2 of the June Borns Family—a local non-governmental organization made up of individuals sharing the June birth month—has generously donated essential items to the Paediatric Unit of the LEKMA Hospital in Teshie, Accra. This initiative, which has a total value of GH¢58,682, seeks to bolster paediatric healthcare and elevate the hospital’s ability to provide superior care for its young patients.
The donation featured a wide array of critical items, including three air conditioners to ensure a comfortable environment for the children, ten drip stands for medical use, and various health essentials like twelve sanitizers and fifteen Omron thermometers. Furthermore, the group provided several packs of baby diapers in different sizes, including maxi and medium options, along with basic supplies like toilet rolls, multi-purpose towels, and even a curtain to enhance the hospital’s facilities.
In a commendable act of compassion, the Zone 2 members also settled medical bills for four patients, which included a substantial GH¢2,500 for a set of twins undergoing an emergency cesarean section. Mr. Rexford Jones Bafoe, the Mayor of Zone 2, underscored the importance of the donation as part of their annual community outreach and social responsibility program.
