Oman Sees Surge in Travel Eyed for Eid Celebrations!

Eid Travels: Omani Residents Explore Local and International Destinations

Muscat – The joyous occasion of Eid is near, and residents of Oman are buzzing with excitement as they finalize their travel plans. This year, the holiday is serving up a delightful mix of options—while some are setting their sights on popular international destinations, many are rediscovering the stunning landscapes and cultural gems within their own country.

As travelers weigh their options, popular outbound spots like Thailand, Dubai, Sri Lanka, and Georgia are at the top of many wish lists. These destinations are attracting attention not only for their enchanting attractions but also for the unique experiences they offer during the festive season. On the flip side, the allure of Oman’s picturesque beaches, majestic mountains, and vast desert expanses is proving irresistible for those eager to embrace a domestic getaway.

Sreedhu Nair, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Travel Diaries, shared some exciting insights: “This Eid, we are thrilled to offer exclusive group package celebrations that take travelers to some of the world’s most sought-after locales, including Georgia, Europe, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Turkey, and Thailand. The response has been phenomenal, with all our group departures completely booked. This clearly indicates a burgeoning demand for premium travel experiences.”

Meanwhile, local travel agencies like Global Travels Ruwi are witnessing an uptick in inquiries. Rohith B highlights that Georgia is a favorite choice for many due to its proximity and pleasant weather. He added, “Sri Lanka remains a popular option for families, especially for those looking for budget-friendly travel. We tailor our travel packages to meet the specific needs of families with children or senior citizens, ensuring everyone can enjoy their Eid getaway.”

While the travel fervor is palpable, soaring airfares pose a challenge for many. Travelers eyeing European destinations are feeling the pinch as flights to these locales have become notably expensive, particularly during the festive season. Salim al Kindi, a sales executive in Amerat, expressed his concerns: “With the rising costs, particularly for a family of four, we’ve opted to explore the beauty of Oman instead. Last Eid, we ventured to Indonesia, but this year we’re excited to visit my village and my wife’s hometown in Sur.”

As Omanis celebrate Eid, whether they choose to embark on a global adventure or revel in the beauty of their homeland, it’s clear that the spirit of the holiday is all about togetherness, culture, and creating lasting memories.
