Empowering Start-Ups: Total Energies Champions Financial Support for Aspiring Entrepreneurs!

In a remarkable boost for entrepreneurship in Africa, Total Energies has recently awarded a commendable N2,000 to three innovative start-up entrepreneurs as part of their impactful Start-Upper Project. This initiative is designed to empower young visionaries while providing a dynamic platform to showcase pioneering ideas and solutions that can transform economies.

The Start-Upper Project is vital for promoting economic growth and development across the continent. Now in its fourth edition, the initiative celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit in 32 African countries—creating tangible opportunities for young innovators to shine. In an inspiring competition, a staggering 300 participants submitted their business ideas, from which only 15 were shortlisted. After a thorough selection process, Verna Xoagus was recognized in the “Cycle Up” category, Sondaha Mutji in “Innov’Up,” and Alfred Muifi in the “Power’Up” category. This trio exemplifies the dedication and ingenuity that the project seeks to nurture.

Total Energies Marketing Namibia’s Managing Director, Naftal Kakwambi, emphasizes the project’s significance. He noted that the initiative not only seeks to recognize these talented young entrepreneurs but also aims to help them develop and sustain their businesses in an ever-challenging market. “Creating employment opportunities for the youth while fostering innovation is at the core of our mission,” Kakwambi stated.

Among the winners, Sondaha Mutji stands out with her inspiring journey in the biogas and renewable energy sector aimed at uplifting rural communities. Reflecting on her experience, she shared that her road to success was not without challenges, yet it underscored the resilience that young entrepreneurs need to cultivate. This support is particularly vital for those aged 18 to 35, with the initiative having already aided twelve young entrepreneurs since its inception—a testament to Total Energies’ commitment to sustainable development across Africa.

As the continent continues to showcase its vibrant entrepreneurial landscape, programs like the Start-Upper Project serve as critical catalysts for progress, empowering the next generation of leaders and innovators. The achievements of these young entrepreneurs not only boost local economies but inspire countless others to follow in their footsteps.
