In July, Egypt solidified its intentions to deepen ties by signing three key memorandums of understanding with the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). The financial landscape between these two countries reflects growing confidence, with Chinese foreign direct investments (FDI) in Egypt increasing from 3.4 million in FY2021/2022 to an impressive 6.7 million in FY2022/2023, as reported by the Central Bank of Egypt. In 2023, cumulative investments reached around billion, including significant contributions to major projects like the New Administrative Capital and the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
