Morocco is enhancing its healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of new facilities.
On September 8, 2026, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced the opening of 15 primary healthcare institutions across six regions in Morocco. This initiative aims to improve healthcare services following significant rehabilitation and equipping projects.
New Healthcare Facilities Across Six Regions
The newly established health facilities are strategically located in Casablanca-Settat, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Beni Mellal-Khenifra, the East, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Marrakech-Safi. The region of Beni Mellal-Khenifra alone has introduced four primary healthcare institutions in the provinces of Azilal and Khenifra.
In Azilal province, three clinics named ‘Kimi’, ‘Bouharazen’, and ‘Ait Ouirar’ have begun operations. Khenifra has also welcomed the health clinic ‘Sidi Bou Abad’. Meanwhile, Marrakech-Safi has benefited from five new facilities in Chichaoua, including the urban health center ‘Imintanout’ and two rural clinics, ‘Bouzouka’ and ‘Laadialat’.
Focus on Specialized Healthcare Services
The Eastern region has seen the launch of three primary healthcare institutions, including the rural health center ‘Oulad Saleh’ in Jerada and the urban health center ‘Al Quds’ in Berkane. In Casablanca-Settat, the urban health center ‘Dar Bouazza’ is now operational, while the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region has introduced the rural health center ‘Beni Jmel Mksoulin’.
Additionally, a tuberculosis and respiratory diseases diagnostic center has opened in Guelmim, aimed at enhancing early detection and supporting patients throughout their treatment process. This center is crucial for improving diagnostic capabilities and ensuring continuity of care for those affected by these illnesses.
Next Steps for Healthcare Expansion
- Monitor the operational effectiveness of the new facilities.
- Evaluate patient feedback and healthcare outcomes.
- Plan for further expansions based on regional healthcare needs.
Morocco is taking significant steps to improve healthcare access and quality.
