Kano State has made significant strides in healthcare, achieving 90% of its health blueprint in just three years.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran, announced this achievement, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services under the Abba Yusuf administration. Key initiatives include the implementation of the Abuja Declaration on Health and the introduction of a digital admissions process that eliminated over N1 billion in fraud.

The Kano State Government has successfully implemented a range of healthcare initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery. The administration has focused on reviving health training institutions and ensuring that healthcare personnel receive proper training and accreditation. Additionally, the government has tackled maternal mortality by offering free healthcare services for pregnant women, including free caesarean sections in over 30 government hospitals. More than N60 million is spent monthly to sustain this program, ensuring access to quality maternal care.
