The 5th HRDC Summit is set to address critical human resource development needs in South Africa.

Deputy President Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile will lead the summit on Thursday, 16 April 2026, at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Gauteng Province. The event will focus on launching the Reconceptualised HRD Strategy and the Master Skills Plan, while also sharing best practices in human resource development.

Key Themes of the 5th HRDC Summit

The summit will operate under the theme “Living and Working in a Changing World.” It aims to empower youth through Workplace-Based Learning (WPBL) and integrate digital skills into all development programs. This two-day event will also provide a platform for collaborative programs that enhance youth participation in the economy.

Additionally, the summit will review the implementation of Social Compacts from the previous HRDC Summit held in 2021. This review is crucial as it acknowledges the rapidly changing workplace dynamics.
