MTC is empowering young Namibians through its new initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship.

The MTC 4 Life 2026 project will provide practical skills and business support to 30 youth in the ǁKharas Region. Participants, aged 18 to 35, will receive training in various trades and a seed grant of N 000 to help launch or expand their businesses.

MTC Launches Initiative for Youth Empowerment

The MTC 4 Life 2026 project targets self-employed and unemployed youth, focusing on equipping them with essential skills. The training will span seven days, covering trades such as hairdressing, barbering, baking, leatherwork, sewing, and cell phone repair.

Each trade will accommodate up to five participants, allowing for personalized mentorship and effective skills transfer. This hands-on approach aims to ensure that participants gain practical knowledge that can be directly applied in their business ventures.

Support for Small Businesses in Namibia

Upon completion of the training, each participant will receive a starter toolkit tailored to their chosen trade. This toolkit, combined with the seed grant of N 000, is designed to provide the necessary resources for young entrepreneurs to kickstart their businesses.

MTC’s initiative aligns with its commitment to national development, as highlighted by Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s chief brand, marketing, communications, and sustainability officer. The program aims to create real opportunities for youth, enabling them to shape their futures and contribute to a prosperous Namibia.

Upcoming Steps for MTC 4 Life 2026

  • The program will commence in April 2026.
  • MTC will collaborate with regional partners to implement the initiative.
  • Stakeholders in the ǁKharas Region will be engaged to support selected youth.

This initiative represents a significant step towards empowering Namibia’s youth and fostering entrepreneurship.
