South African jazz legend Hilton Schilder is set to launch his 46th album in a highly anticipated performance.

The event will take place on February 25, 2026, at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music. It is part of the 16th SAJE Conference, focusing on Indigenous Musical Elements in South African Jazz.

Hilton Schilder’s Upcoming Album Launch

Hilton Schilder will perform his new album, Crooks & Nannies, during the event. The evening will feature a solo piano performance followed by a set with the Hilton Schilder Trio. The trio will explore various musical styles, including Cape jazz and indigenous classical music.

Joining Schilder on stage will be Clayton Norman Pretorius on bass and Kurt Bowers on drums. This performance promises to be a rich blend of improvisation and original compositions.
