The Kombat Mine, a long-standing copper asset in Namibia, has commenced construction following a N0 million equity investment by UK-based Horizon Corporation. This investment marks a pivotal moment for the Otjozondjupa Region’s mining prospects and Namibia’s investment climate.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 6 February 2026, attended by executives from New Horizon Copper (NHC), Horizon Corporation, government representatives, and community stakeholders. This event signals the start of a phased redevelopment program aimed at resuming operations by the fourth quarter of 2026.
As part of the restart strategy, the project will focus on developing areas around Kombat’s Asis West Shaft and implementing sensor-based ore sorting technology. Additionally, a robust dewatering program will be continued to ensure long-term operational stability.
