Zambia is making significant strides in expanding its telecommunications infrastructure.
On 13 February, Minister of Technology and Science Felix C. Mutati inaugurated a new telecommunications tower in Kapiri Mposhi, built by IHS Towers. This facility will provide uninterrupted mobile and digital services to over 7,000 residents.
Zambia’s New Telecommunications Tower Enhances Connectivity
The newly inaugurated tower in Kapiri Mposhi is a pivotal addition to Zambia’s digital landscape. It operates independently of the national grid, utilizing a hybrid system that combines generators, lithium batteries, and solar energy. This ensures that residents have access to reliable services around the clock.
With four towers now established in Kapiri Mposhi District and a total of fourteen across Central Province, the initiative has significantly improved mobile money transactions and digital access for local farmers, traders, and marketeers.
