The MTN South Africa Foundation will continue its partnership with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to support the Back-to-School Campaign. This initiative aims to equip selected schools with digital devices, facilitating access to e-learning tools for students across the country.

MTN’s Commitment to Digital Education

MTN has been a steadfast partner of the DBE for over two decades, focusing on strengthening South Africa’s education system. The foundation has contributed to various initiatives, including providing e-learning tools, training for educators, and establishing multimedia centers in both conventional and LSEN schools.

Nompilo Morafo, MTN SA’s group chief sustainability and corporate affairs officer, emphasized that the commitment to education extends beyond celebrations. It is about equipping learners with technology that opens doors to knowledge and opportunities.

Supporting Under-Resourced Schools

The initiative specifically targets quintile one to three schools in under-resourced communities. MTN aims to motivate learners and equip them with the necessary digital tools for success. The devices will be distributed in collaboration with provincial education departments.

MTN believes that investing in education is crucial for South Africa’s growth and competitiveness. By providing access to modern tools, the foundation hopes to inspire students to dream bigger and achieve more.
