YearBeyond Programme Empowers South African Youth

The YearBeyond Programme is a youth-in-service initiative supported by the government, the National Youth Development Agency, donors, and NGOs. Originally launched in the Western Cape, it has expanded nationally, aiming to support unemployed youth by placing them in community roles while preparing them for further education or employment.

Participants, known as YeBoneers, engage in various programmes that address pressing social needs, including learner support in schools, early childhood development, and youth wellbeing initiatives. This hands-on experience is designed to build confidence and improve employability.
