The beautiful shores of Ponta do Ouro in Mozambique have become the center of a heartfelt search for local teen Rikus Kylander. The Hoërskool Noordheuwel matriculant was last seen on December 18, enjoying a day of snorkeling with friends—a popular activity in this vibrant coastal destination known for its rich marine life. His sister, Clarise Kylander, shared that since his disappearance, efforts to locate him have intensified, with hopes still alive for his safe return.

As the days pass, there remains an unwavering sense of community and support surrounding the Kylander family. Clarise conveyed on December 20, “There is no news yet on his whereabouts,” highlighting the emotional toll on all involved. The South African Sea Rescue Institute has graciously stepped in to conduct the search, relieving some of the pressure from Rikus’s family, who have decided to step back from the searching efforts while still remaining hopeful for his return.
