Egypt Launches First Digital Platform for Virtual Exhibitions and Conferences

The Egyptian Expo and Convention Authority has partnered with Meta Mall to launch Egypt’s first digital platform for virtual exhibitions. This initiative aligns with the Egypt 2026 Forum’s recommendations and aims to enhance the exhibitions and conferences industry.

The project will utilize virtual and hybrid exhibition technologies to create three-dimensional digital twins of exhibition and conference halls. These digital spaces will be accessible online and can be reused for multiple events throughout the year. Implementation will start at Hall 5 of the Cairo International Conference Center, with plans to cover the remaining halls successively.

Egypt Launches Digital Exhibition Platform

This new platform will allow for the adaptation of layouts and visual identities to match the nature of each exhibition. The goal is to maximize the use of existing exhibition infrastructure while broadening participation from companies, exhibitors, and visitors both locally and internationally.

Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid emphasized that leveraging digital technologies is crucial for enhancing Egypt’s competitiveness in the exhibitions sector. This initiative is expected to promote Egyptian products and open new export markets.

Features of the Digital Platform

The project will provide an integrated system for managing digital events, including features such as registration, ticket booking, and QR-code entry. It will also include exhibition modules, live streaming, meetings, and performance reports.

A smart mobile application will enhance the experience for exhibitors, visitors, and organizers. Additionally, the partnership aims to support Egyptian participation in international exhibitions and facilitate virtual trade missions and business meetings.

Next Steps for Implementation

  • Implementation will begin at Hall 5 of the Cairo International Conference Center.
  • Remaining halls will be covered successively during the contract period.
  • Digital event content will remain accessible for an agreed period after each event.

This initiative aims to strengthen Egypt’s position in the global exhibitions market through innovative digital solutions.
